Description

A historic 1905 Honan Province 10 Cents silver coin from the final years of the Qing Dynasty. Issued during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (1875–1908), this coin represents China's efforts to modernize its currency system by replacing traditional cast coinage with machine-struck silver coins.

The coin was produced by the Honan (Henan) provincial mint and features the iconic Chinese dragon design, a symbol of imperial authority, strength, and protection. Provincial silver issues from the late Qing period are highly collected because of their historical importance and the many regional varieties produced by different mints.

This example is graded XF Details due to a reverse scratch and cleaning, but it retains strong design details and remains an attractive representative of late Qing provincial coinage.
