The 1912-D Lincoln Wheat Cent was struck at the Denver Mint during the fourth year of the iconic Lincoln cent series, first introduced in 1909 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Designed by renowned sculptor Victor David Brenner, the Lincoln cent was the first regular-issue United States coin to feature the portrait of an actual historical figure.
Minted in relatively modest numbers compared to many later Lincoln cents, the 1912-D remains a desirable early-date issue. Coins in Very Fine (VF30) condition retain strong detail in Lincoln's portrait, with moderate wear from circulation while preserving much of the original design.
