1936 Buffalo Nickel — Extremely Fine (XF)
A classic 1936 Buffalo Nickel, also known as an Indian Head Nickel, designed by James Earle Fraser. The obverse features a Native American portrait with “LIBERTY” and the date, while the reverse depicts an American bison standing on a raised mound.
This example is graded Extremely Fine (XF), showing moderate circulation wear while retaining strong detail in the Native American portrait, the date, and the buffalo. The major lettering and design elements remain clearly visible.
The 1936 Philadelphia issue has no mint mark and had a very high mintage of 119,001,420, making it a common date. Its value comes primarily from its condition and eye appeal, rather than scarcity.
