China Republic – 10 Cents (10 Wen) Copper Coin
1919 | Crossed Flags Type | AU58 BN
Description
A historic 1919 Republic of China 10 Wen copper coin issued during the early years of the Republic period. Following the fall of the Qing Dynasty in 1912, China continued developing a modern national coinage system, replacing the traditional imperial designs with symbols representing the new republic.
The coin features the crossed national flags design, a popular symbol used on early Republic of China coinage. The reverse displays the denomination “10 Wen” within a decorative wreath.
This attractive AU58 BN example displays strong remaining details with a beautiful natural brown patina, giving the coin excellent character and originality. A desirable piece for collectors of early Chinese Republic coinage and historic world copper coins.
