This is a beautiful 1964 (Showa 39) Japan 1000 Yen silver commemorative coin issued to celebrate the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The 1964 Tokyo Olympics were a major moment in Japanese history. They were the first Olympic Games held in Asia and represented Japan’s remarkable recovery and rebuilding following World War II. The Games helped introduce modern Japan to the world and became a symbol of the country’s growing prosperity and international importance.
