1856 Seated Liberty Dime — About Uncirculated (AU)
A classic 1856 Seated Liberty Dime, featuring Liberty seated on a rock on the obverse, holding a shield and liberty pole. The reverse displays “ONE DIME” surrounded by a wreath.
This example is graded About Uncirculated (AU), showing only light wear on the highest points while retaining strong detail and much of its original surface appearance. The 1856 issue is particularly interesting because it was struck in both Small Date and Large Date varieties.
Struck in 90% silver, this attractive mid-19th-century dime is an excellent addition to a collection of classic U.S. silver coinage.
